Make-A-Wish Tournament runners-up
Catfish Softball, sponsored by Results Rehab and Fitness, placed second out of 40 teams in the Make-A-Wish Co-Ed Softball Tournament this weekend in Erie. The Beaty-Warren Middle School eighth grade girls basketball team defeated Titusville on Saturday, 43-13. Margo Loutzenhiser had 12 points, Taylor Lucks 10, Chelsea Wees six, Lindsey Goldthwaite 6, Rachel Wilson five, Morgan Lupole two, and Logan Hammond two for Beaty.
On Monday, BWMS defeated Youngsville, 27-17. Loutzenhiser led the way with 13 points, Lucks six, Wilson four, Goldthwaite two, and Lupole two for Beaty. For Youngsville, Paige Mineweaser had 12 points, Morgan Lawson two, Alanna Hultberg two, and Maddie Cratty one.
In the seventh grade game, Beaty defeated Youngsville by a score of 36-11. Laura Lucks had 14 points, Ceci Citro six, Kadee Merenick and Gracie Wood four each, and Lily Nebinski, Kayla Giambrone, Megan Blakennburg, and Francesca Beuger each added two points for Beaty. Autumn Hultberg scored 10 of Youngsville's points, with Megan Foley adding the other.
The Lady Knights junior high basketball teams dropped a pair of contests to Kane on Monday, with Eisenhower Blue losing 33-5, and Eisenhower Gold losing 28-27. Payton Mineweaser had three points and Sammy Shelton had two for the Blue team. For the Gold squad, Cameron Edwards and Caroline Hishman each had six points, Ashley VanGuilder five, Anna McJunkin and Tess Morningstar four each, and Lexi Head two.
The Sheffield Lady Wolverines lost a pair of games against Johnsonburg Monday night, 39-6 in the 'A' game and 41-0 in the 'B' game. Myah Grubbs scored six points and Isis Pratz scored two in the loss for Sheffield.
WCYBSA will be holding a workbee Saturday, September 14 starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Farm Colony Complex in North Warren. Projects will include demolishing the Weidert Concession stand damaged in the tornado, removal of old equipment from the main storage building and other misc. projects such as taking down the batting cages. Please donate some of your time to help.
Heavy work gloves and safety glasses are recommended. If you have access to sledge hammers, crow bars, Saws-alls and other demolition tools, please bring them.
