The Eisenhower Knights defended their home turf Friday night, scoring 33 unanswered points in a 33-6 Region 2 win over Maplewood at Eisenhower High School.
The first drive of the game looked grim as the Tigers scored a touchdown in the middle of the first quarter. But it was all Knights after that drive.
After falling to Mercer in week one last season, Eisenhower rebounded to win five straight. The Knights evened their record at 1-1 to start 2013.

All the way
Eisenhower’s Bryce Garris (19) signals touchdown as teammate Tre Frank beat the secondary for a long touchdown reception in the first quarter of a high school football game vs. Maplewood on Friday at Eisenhower High School.
Two Rob Wilston touchdown passes gave Ike a 14-6 first quarter lead.
The first was a 55-yard TD strike with Tre Frank, who had burned the secondary deep and was hit in stride. The second was Alex Johnson's doing, taking a screen pass past a half dozen defenders for a 75-yard touchdown.
The Knights weren't finished, scoring again early in the third. And also after a quick turnover by the Tigers, the Knights scored again showing no mercy for their opponents.

Wilston added nearly 100 yards rushing.
"Way too many mistakes were made in the first half and we should have had three more touchdowns as it was," said Ike coach Jim Penley about the first half, but the Knights responded in the second half.
Penley noted some defensive highlights were his defensive line in the second half and the couple big plays that led to turnovers.
