Donald F. Frank, 86, of 8 Pleasant St., Sugar Grove, Pa., passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013 at his residence.
Don was born July 8, 1927 in Sugar Grove, a son of the late Kenneth and Erma (Wilcox) Frank. He was a veteran of the Navy, serving as a Seabee in a construction Battalion. Don started working at SM Flickengers, and then was a proprietor of the Stateline Eriez Speedways, opening in 1956. He then went on to work at the Sanders Egg Farm and retired from the Bucket Cafe, where he worked for many years as a bartender. He was a member of the Sugar Grove American Legion for 63 years, a charter member of the Sugar Grove AmVets Club, a lifetime member of the Sugar Grove Vol. Fire Dept., a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, and lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sugar Grove. Don enjoyed working around the house and spending time with his family. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sally Jordan Frank, whom he married at the First Presbyterian Church of Sugar Grove in 1970, 2 sons; Tom and his wife Kristin Abbott of Conneaut Lake, Pa.; Kevin and his wife Amey Abbott of Sugar Grove; a daughter Cindy Sue Frank, also of Sugar Grove, 8 grandchildren; Kyle Abbott, Krista Abbott, Lauren Queale, Tre' Frank, Samara Warren, Thomas Warren, Tajah Warren, and Thakari Warren; 3 great grandchildren; Ethan, Eric and Kymani, 2 brothers, Gail and his wife Florence Frank of Lakewood, N.Y., Jerry Frank of Sugar Grove, one sister; Onalee Williams of Sugar Grove, Amanda Hayes and her son Jayden, who have lived with the Franks for many years, and many sistersinlaw, brothersinlaw, and nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by many sisters inlaw and brothersinlaw.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday (September 7) at the First Presbyterian Church in Sugar Grove from 48 p.m., and also for one hour prior to a funeral service that will be held there on Sunday at 2 p.m., with the Pastor Nancy Page, officiating. Burial will be in the Lottsville Cemetery.
