Warren had its best outing of the season - in the worst conditions thus far, a second-place finish at Tuesday's Region 3 megamatch at its own course, Blueberry Hill.
"I was real happy with the scores considering it did rain more than it didn't," said Warren coach Dan Passmore, whose Dragons shot a 323 - one stroke off region champion Meadville.
Warren's Nathan Sandberg was medalist at 74, and Andrew Gignac third at 76. Both golfers are in line to qualify for the District 10 championships Oct. 8.
First, Warren will compete on Thursday at the Corry Invitational, and then at its last Region 3 megamatch on Tuesday at Oil City's Wenango golf course.

ROCKY GROVE - Eisenhower is improving, especially in the case of freshman Jack Reynolds, who dropped 10 strokes from his last Region 5 megamatch.
Reynolds finished with an 18-hole 99 at Lucky Hills, and Eisenhower was led by senior Tab Berkhous, with 97.
"(Jack Reynolds) didn't think he played as well as he actually did," said Ike coach Phil Heubach.
Berkhous, according to Heubach, is capable of shooting in the 80's, and should improve when he stops putting too much pressure on himself.
