Visiting youth group
Norfolk Youth Group
Members of the youth group which camped at the Free Methodist Church on Davis Street are seen.
Thirty teens and adults from the Ocean View Baptist Church in Norfolk, VA spent the week camping at the Free Methodist Church grounds on Davis St.
They spent time each day ministering to local organizations that were in need of volunteer assistance, and experiencing all the best things that Warren County has to offer. Under the leadership of Caleb Dininny, the team helped at the Free Methodist Church and at Restoration Youth Ranch. Some of the kids haven't camped before, and were delighted to learn how to make camper pies, smores and other campfire goodies. Everyone enjoyed their stay in Youngsville very much.
Sadly, there were several young people from Youngsville who didn't represent our town very well. They toilet papered the tents one evening, rifled through the visitors bus, and put stones in the water coolers on a different evening. Several of the visiting teenagers saw one of the teens in an orange hoodie, but wasn't able to make any further identification.
Pastor Rick and Pastor Kathy were very impressed with the maturity of the group, and their obvious heart for the Lord. The Youngsville Free Methodist Church is making plans to visit the Ocean View Church in the summer of next year to foster our growing relationship.
The residents get together every other Tuesday at the Rouse Suites at 2 p.m. and knit or crochet a blanket for a new baby.
St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church will be offering weekly services of prayer for healing each Wednesday at 6:30 PM at the Church. Worship and prayer will be led by the Rev. Larry Scofield and the Rev. Sue Scofield together with a team from the church membership.
Anyone, from any denomination or faith background, who desires God's help, is welcome. The church is located at 343 E Main Street in Youngsville, PA.
