Philadelphia schools Superintendent William Hite plans to announce by today how the school district will cope with an $81 million budget shortfall. Options include massive layoffs, a delayed start or shortened school year.

MOM JAILED FOR TRUNACY DIED OF NATURAL CAUSES

The Berks County coroner says 55-year-old Eileen DiNino died from high blood pressure that contributed to heart failure. Fluid in her lungs also was a factor. The mother of seven from Reading had been found dead in her jail cell on June 7, halfway through a two-day sentence.

POPE TELLS 'TODAY' REPORTER HE'S COMING TO PHILADELPHIA — BUT OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION FROM VATICAN NOT EXPECTED FOR MONTHS

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is hoping Pope Francis will attend the World Meeting of Families in September 2015. Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput (SHAP'-yoo) also says the pope told him that he was coming — but a spokesman for the archdiocese says official confirmation won't come until about six months before the event.

SMALL PENNSYLVANIA POLICE FORCE ALL A TWITTER OVER MISSOURI RIOTING

That's because people angry about the shooting of a black man in Ferguson, Missouri have been sending angry tweets to a Twitter handle used by the Ferguson Township police in Centre County.

CUSTOMER SHOOTS BARTENDER BEFORE KILLING SELF

State police are investigating the shooting near Brockport in northwestern Pennsylvania. Troopers say that's where 31-year-old Eric Carlson fatally shot himself after first wounding the bartender at the Brockport Army & Navy Club just before midnight. Police say Carlson was upset that the woman was trying to close the bar.
