Raymond J. Nowacki, 87, of Warren, Pa. died Sunday morning, July 28, 2013 at Warren General Hospital. He was born January 23, 1926 in Dunkirk, N.Y. to the late Walter and Lucille Nowacki. Ray was a 1943 graduate of Dunkirk High School, Dunkirk, N.Y. He had served with the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Seaman 1st Class. After serving in the service he was employed with the former Loblaws grocery store in Dunkirk, N.Y. and several other locations as Store Manager for 23 years. He then moved to Warren, PA. where he was manager and became owner and operator of the former Warren Sewing Center retiring from there after several years. He was then employed as a part time bartender with the Warren Elks Lodge. He was a member of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church where he was an active member with numerous activities, including being a church usher, serving on the building committee and the Catholic Stewardship Appeal committee. He was a member of the Warren Elks Lodge. He was a member of the Warren Knights of Columbus Council for over 50 years, serving as a past Grand Knight and longtime chairman of the K of C Turkey Party. He was a former member of the bowling league, a volunteer bartender, a 4th degree member and sold numerous football tickets over the years. He enjoyed bowling, hunting and especially all kinds of fishing with his sons, grandchildren and family. He loved the outdoors, spending time in his yard tending to his vegetable and flower gardens.
