How would you spend the last moments of your life? Would you think of yourself, or would your thoughts turn to others? Oil tycoon Henry Rouse might surprise you with his answer. Please join Henry Rouse reenactor Jude Harter for a special campfire edition of Warren County Tales at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at the Wilder Museum of Warren County History as he shares that answer and recounts tales from his legendary life.
As a teacher, scholar, lumberman and civic leader, Henry Rouse's journey into Warren County's early history began on barefoot, and ended in a pair of Brooks Brothers' boots. See those famous boots and recall their place along the Mississippi River, in Pennsylvania's legislature, and in the greatest catastrophe of early oil. Warren County Tales is free and open to the public, with refreshments provided compliments of GoldenLiving Kinzua and AseraCare Hospice. The Wilder Museum is located at 51 Erie St., Irvine. Take your own chairs. The event will be held indoors in case of inclement weather. For more information, visit warrenhistory.org or call 723-1795.
