Youngsville Post 658 improved to 3-2 in Warren County Senior American Baseball League play on Monday, defeating Corry Northwest Savings Bank by a score of 2-0 at Davis Street Field.
Corry loaded the bases in the top of the second inning, but Youngsville's Jacob Linkerhof was able to record a strikeout to end the threat without surrendering a run.
Post 658 got the only offense it would need in the third inning when Cory Craig scored the first run of the game on an attempted throw to third which sailed into left field. Craig had singled to lead off the inning before stealing second and third. Ryan Williams drew a walk and advanced to third on the Corry error, eventually scoring on a suicide squeeze off the bat of Caleb Linkerhof.
Jacob Linkerhof earned the complete game victory on the mound for Youngsville, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out five.
Post 658 will visit Tidioute on Wednesday as they look to make it two in a row.
