The Warren County Conservation District (WCCD) has canceled this year's 6K Trail Trek scheduled for June 29. Refunds for registrations and sponsorships will be sent out as soon as possible.
According to Jean Gomory, watershed specialist with the WCCD, "We thank registered participants and sponsors for the support they have shown for this event and the mission of the Warren County Conservation District. We take great pride in the encompassing conservation practices exhibited within the boundaries of the Hatch Run Conservation Demonstration Area and we hope visitors will come and explore the wonders there."
The area is ideal for hiking, running, bird watching, photography, catch and release fishing, and almost any other outdoor recreation activity. The property is open to the public. The pavilion and privy are also available to rent at a cost of $25. This location is perfect for family reunions, club picnics, and graduation parties. Reservations need to be made in advance.
"We regret the cancellation of our 6K Trail Trek," Gomory said, "but we do hope we'll see you around the property so you can enjoy its scenic beauty and natural wonderment."
