Warren County sent 10 male athletes to the PIAA Track & Field Championships in 2013.
On Sunday, the county was rewarded with one all-District 10 relay team and a total of 22 different Warren, Eisenhower and Youngsville athletes earned all-region status in at least one event for the season that recently wrapped up.
Leading the charge for the county males was Warren's District 10 Class AAA winning 4X400 relay team of seniors Jordan Willetts and Caleb Hultman and juniors Tanner Rosenberg and Luke Wortman. The foursome were named all-district in the event for 2013. The exact same duo won the D-10 title in 2012 and the 4X400 title was the third straight for a Warren combination of runners.

A total of 11 Warren athletes worked their way onto Region 3 all-stars teams this season. That number includes a pair of first-team relay squads as Nic Allen, Alec Colisimo, Ben Ruland and Hultman were named as the top 4X800 team and Hultman, Wortman, Willetts and Ryan Shattuck were named as the first-team 4X400 relay squad. Shattuck ran with the team for most of the regular season before Rosenberg returned late in the year.
Individually, Wortman was named a first-team region all-star in the 400 and a second-team selection in the 200. Wortman won his first individual District 10 title by winning the 400 title at the Class AAA meet in May. Hultman added a first-team selection in the 800 and Mark Davis was a three-time region all-star, being named to the first team in high jump and long jump and the second team in the triple jump.
Willetts was a second-teamer in the 100 and 400 and Shattuck's fine season in the hurdles events was recognized by second-team picks in the 110 and 300 hurdles. Freshman Ryan Gorgacz was a Region 3 second-team all-star in the long jump and senior Chris McNeal earned second-team status in the shot put.

Region athlete of the year- Jared Hazen, Titusville
Despite winning his second straight D-10 Class AAA title in the javelin, senior Austin Jerman was named to the second-team on the Region 3 list behind Franklin junior Adam Fiorentino - the same thrower he beat to win the district title.
Youngsville and Eisenhower competed in Region 4 this season and were well represented on those all-star teams. The Eagles had a total of five athletes attain first-team status, including the 4X100 relay team of Mike Hamrick, Thomas Chapman, Andrew Tyers and Rocco Gatta.
Gatta added a first-team nod in the 200, Hamrick a first-team nod in the long jump and Nathan Wilcox - brother of PIAA qualifier Mitch Wilcox - edged out his brother for the first-team spot in the javelin. Mitch made it a clean sweep for the brothers by grabbing the Region 4 second-team selection in the javelin.
Other Region 4 second-team selections for the Eagles were Chapman in the 110 hurdles, Gatta in the 100, Hamrick in the triple jump and Austin Mechling in the discus.
The Eisenhower boys had a fine campaign in 2013 and had two athletes named to the Region 4 first-team and two more named to the second-team. Jake VanHouten - who sent a new school record and won a D-10 title in the 300 hurdles - was named to the first team in that event. Teammate Ben Perkins was a first-team pick in the triple jump.
Seniors Matt Eernisse and Anthony Amroski finished their fine careers with second-team selections in the 400 and 3200 respectively.
Perhaps one big surprise in the release of region all-stars was the omission of Ike's 4X400 relay team. The team of VanHouten, Eernisse, Perkins and Andrew Onoratti broke the school record and won the D-10 Class AA title in the event, yet were beat out by Titusville and Iroquois for region all-star status.
District and region all-star selections for girls track & field will be published later this week. Selections for baseball and softball will be announced next week.
Here are the District 10, Region 3 and Region 4 all-stars for the recently completed 2013 season:
