Donald L. Stover, 77, of Russell, passed away Tuesday evening, May 28, 2013 at the Warren Manor.
Don was born September 16, 1935 in President, Pa., a son of the late Earl and Bernice Fox Stover. He served in the National Guard and was retired from Philips Lighting in Warren. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, restoring antique furniture, crossword puzzles, gardening and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife Rita DeWatter Stover, whom he married November 23, 1965 in Russell, 6 children, Terry (Bev) Stover and Jeff Stover, both of Garland, Richard Stover and James Stover, both of Russell, Kristie Stover Gould of Youngsville and Scott (Christina) Stover of Warren, his brothers and sisters, Tom (Rose) Stover of Youngsville, Lawrence (Karen) Stover of Warren, Dessie Stover of Youngsville, Sarah (Charles) Confer of Warren, Nancy (Floyd) Parker of Lottsville, Bonnie (Edward) Jewell of Wrightsville, several grand children, 3 greatgrandchil dren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Bill and Glenn Stover, and 2 nephews, Shane Parker and Charles Confer.
Friends will be received on Friday from 47 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 North Main St. in Youngsville. A funeral service will be held there on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Rick Hamrick, pastor of the Youngsville Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Russell.
