On June 15, Warren is getting fresh again.
According to Warren Farmers Market Coordinator Josie Gerardi, the weekly market is set to open for the first time this year on Saturday, June 15. The market will then welcome customers beginning at 8 a.m. each Saturday until Oct. 26.
In total, the Second Ave. side of the city's Midtown Parking Lot will host 20 market days in 2013.
According to Gerardi, if you've visited in the past, much of what you'll find at the market will be familiar.
Gerardi noted visitors can expect a wide range of vendors.
"Last year, we grew quite a bit," she said. "So this year we've got about 25 vendors, which is a nice size."
The vendor list grows with seasons when it comes to local products.
"They won't all be there right away, of course," she said. "It's usually mid-July when we get a lot of vegetable vendors, but some will be there."
The market will also be doubling gift certificate giveaways again.
The $25 certificates initially were handed out once each month. Last year, organizers stepped the giveaways up to every other week and in 2013 a giveaway will occur weekly.
Every $10 purchase at the market qualifies customers for a gift certificate for a cloth shopping bag as well.
Some familiar faces will be returning as well.
"As usual, the Penn State Master Gardeners will be there every other week," Gerardi said.
