Hazel Dunkel, 75, of Miles Run Rd., Spring Creek, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013 at her residence, surrounded by her family.
She was born September 22, 1937 in Titusville, Pa., a daughter to the late Alexander and Lois (Antill) Bachko. Hazel was a 1957 graduate of Titusville High School and worked as an office clerk at Torpedo Wire.
She is survived by her loving husband Charles Dunkel, whom she married November 13, 1977, a daughter Melcenia (Vern) Edmisten of Spring Creek, 4 stepchildren, Vikki Bonney of Maquoketa, Iowa, Rodger Dunkel and David Dunkel, both of Onslow, Iowa, and Tammy Dunkel of Delmar, Iowa, a brother Jim Bachko of Pittsfield, 8 grandchildren Austin Peters, Brandon Peters, Aaron Edmisten, Aiden Edmisten, Amber Dunkel, Cody Dunkel, Breyer Dunkel, and Brigette Dunkel, and by nieces and nephews, Lois Rosenberg, Raymond Kane, Brian Kane, Nathan, Calvin and Scott Marsh, Larry and Mike Bachko and Linda Eby.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Marsha Myers and Melcenia Kane.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 31, at 5:00 p.m. at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Youngsville, with the Rev. Annette Gerber, pastor, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Warren Co., 2 Crescent Dr., Warren, PA 16365.
