Going short for Debbie Lord

May 18, 2013
The Times Observer

Cassandra Galbier had her tresses cut short by Emily Anderson at the Modern Edge salon to help raise money for her mother, Debbie Lord who is suffering from stage three C ovarian cancer. Two of her cousins, Brianna Pollock and Megan Sweet, did the same, and their hair will be used to make wigs for children with cancer. Other fundraisers to help Lord with her medical costs include a food basket raffle that raised over $2,600; ongoing sales of ovarian cancer blue rubber bracelets bearing the words "Hope, Faith and Love" and pearl bracelets with a ribbon. There will also be a golf scramble on June 29 at Jackson Valley Country Club, and a garage sale Memorial Day weekend on Greene Avenue in Starbrick. Galbier said, "Once she beats it, any extra money will be donated to other area people with cancer."
