Children’s Book Week

May 17, 2013
The Times Observer

The Warren Public Library Children's Department sponsored a reading incentive in honor of Children's Book Week, which is May 13-19 this year. Particpants were asked to read - or have read to them - at least five fiction or nonfiction books about birds. They listed their five books on a Children's Book Week Reading Incentive form, which was due to the Children's Department by May 11. From these forms three names were pulled on May 13. The three winners are: Eva Newell, Anabelle Harvey and Hailey Peterson. Each winner received a copy of author Mo Willem's "Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late!" along with a stuffed pigeon doll. Eva Newell is pictured with her prizes. Children who stop by the Children's Department are invited to take a pencil with a special message about reading during Children's Book Week. The pencils are located on the staff desk.
