Luella J. Johnson, 97, a lifelong resident of Wrightsville, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Rouse Warren Co. Home, surrounded by her family.
Luella was born February 7, 1916 in Goshen, Indiana, a daughter of the late Jason and Mary Stabler Cripe. She was a former member of the Wrightsville Vol. Fire Dept. Auxiliary and enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two sons, Ivan Johnson and his wife Nancy of Sugar Grove and Dale Johnson and his wife Cheryl of Pittsfield, three grandchildren, Dan Johnson and his wife Pam, Shelly Brown and her companion Clint Ross, and Brian Swift, four grandchildren, Jarrett Brown, Makenna Brown, Logan Swift and Kamryn Swift.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Johnson in 1985, an infant daughter, and two sisters, Ulah Skinner and Flossie Garner.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 47 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St. in Youngsville. A funeral service will be held there on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Berea Cemetery.
