Knapp honored

May 3, 2013
The Times Observer

Linda Knapp, left, was the recipient of the Alzheimer's Association Excellence in Advocacy Award from Gail Roddie-Hamlin, right, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Alzheimer's Association Greater Pennsylvania Chapter. Knapp is one of the advocating members of the Warren support group, which meets the third Monday of every month at noon at Grace United Methodist Church. The group is a safe setting where families dealing with Alzheimer's disease can come together for moral support and learn the next steps to take after a diagnosis. The group also helps families navigate the healthcare system in a rural community through homecare, assisted living and now skilled nursing care. In addition, Knapp volunteers her time at the Golden Living-Kinzua Alzheimer's care unit.
