The Warren YMCA will host a Happy Healthy Kids Day Event in Warren on Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
By incorporating fun activities that promote exercise and wellness, children will have fun while remaining active, and learn how to have a healthy lifestyle.
The Y and PNC Bank, along with Superior Tire, Whirley DrinkWorks and Bob Evans are offering a day of fun and activities for ages 3 and up. There will be vendors handing out special items to the youth who attend the free event.
Jamie Frederick of PNC Warren said, "PNC is in support of any program that supports healthy kids activities especially when it is together with parents."
There will be a healthy snack from Bob Evans, physical activities provided by the Y and the Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry Gus Macker coordinators, Warren General Hospital will have coloring pages and Ruby Wiles Books from Kids Town, Whirley DrinkWorks will provide sports cups and PNC will hand out bags to collect the goods.
A large portion of the gym will be set up with mats and gymnastic apparatus for a course that includes agility activities, climbing, and tumbling. The Gus Macker representatives will have age-appropriate basketball activities.
Along with the main sponsors there will be vendors handing out special items to the youth who attend the free event. Allegheny Cyclery will provide a Bike and Helmet safety check for anyone showing up with their equipment.
Holli Summerville from the marketing department of Warren General Hospital said, "Warren General Hospital is pleased to be a part of the Happy Healthy Kids Day."
Lincoln Sokolski of Whirley DrinkWorks said, "We support wellness programs for all of our teammates and their families. Whatever we can do to help promote health and wellness throughout our community is a top priority. The Happy Healthy Kids Day event being held at the YMCA on April 26th is a great day to educate our youth in this important area that will serve them well for the rest of their lives."
Later in the afternoon the Warren Y Kids Be Fit group will be offering activities for older kids, including jumping rope at 4:30 p.m.
