The Warren County Career Center has been charged with a crime.
A release from Warren-based state police says police responded to five false alarms between December 5, 2012 and April 17, 2013 at the school in Glade Township.
A maximum of three per year is permissible by law. As a result, police reported that a non-traffic citation has been filed through District Justice Laura Bauer's office.
Dr. Norbert Kennerknecht, district director of buildings and grounds, said that the problem is with the security system, and the district will be taking steps to fix the problem.
He explained that if a sensor goes bad, the alarm can go off. Once the alarm goes off, indication is relayed to a third party company which then immediately notifies the state police.
"We just got a work order this week," Kennerknecht said last Thursday. The summary offense comes with a fine of up to $300.
