HERMITAGE - Mother Nature ultimately won out during Wednesday's planned boys tennis match between Warren and Hickory.
The Dragons (5-0) were leading all three singles matches as well as the first doubles match when weather finally won out, forcing suspension of the match with the Hornets.
"We arrived at Hermitage and our boys quickly took to drying the courts from a brief rainstorm," said Warren coach Jeff Bartsch. "With the courts cleared, warmup began and match play was about to begin when another brief rainstorm began and a half hour wait ensued. (We) returned to the courts, helped dry the facility and the matches finally began. "I was pleased with our boys and (assistant) coach Gene Burns because of the effort (we) made in drying the opponents' tennis courts."
The match will be finished on Wednesday, May 1, when the Dragons make the trip to Sharon for the Tri-County Tournament.
