Edward W. Lindsey, 93, Warren, PA, passed away at his residence surrounded by his family on Saturday morning, April 6, 2013.
Mr. Lindsey was born in Warren, PA, the son of the late John and Velma Skinner Lindsey. A lifelong Warren resident, Edward was a 1936 graduate of Warren High School. He then served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre during WW II as a Machinist Mate. He returned to Warren and was employed as a machinist for thirty two years at Sylvania, retiring in 1982. He then worked at the National Forge for eleven years. He and his wife, who survives, were longtime members of the First Lutheran Church of Warren.
He was a very sociable and quickwitted man who enjoyed many friends, his family, and especially his grandchildren.
Edward is survived by his wife Margery M. Chapel Lindsey; two daughters, Beverly Moore and her husband, James, and Susan Morris and her husband, Richard, all of Warren, PA; one son, Edward A. Lindsey and his wife Beverly, Warren, PA; seven grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren; and two greatgreatgrandchil dren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wesley and Harold Lindsey, and two sisters, Mildred Angove and Mary Lindsey.
A memorial service will be held and announced at a later date.
