A pair of Sheffield High School basketball players have received all-star recognition for the recently completed 2012-13 season.
Sheffield senior Shequan Wright will participate in the Sportsmanship I/Clarion County YMCA District 9 basketball all-star game scheduled for April 6 at Clarion High School. A girls game is scheduled for 6 p.m. with the boys game to follow at 7:30 p.m.
Wright, who averaged just under 10 points per game for Sheffield (7-15) in 2012-13, will play on a team that features the top two scoring players in District 9 boys hoops this season - Cranberry's Ryan Willison (25.2 ppg) and Smethport's Zach Smith (22.3 ppg). Wright will also get the chance to play along side Johnsonburg's Mitch Holmberg who helped his team to a PIAA Class A championship game appearance last month.
While she will not be playing in the all-star game, Sheffield sophomore Jen Isenberg was honored as a District 9 girls basketball third-team all-star for the 2012-13 campaign. Isenberg was the only Lady Wolverine to be included on the list after scoring 16.8 ppg during her second season at Sheffield.
Through two seasons, Isenberg is on pace for over 1,000 career points, with a total of 579 points.
