Dorothea P. Lucas, 87, of Warren, PA, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at her home surrounded by family.
Dorothea was born September 17, 1925, in Warren, the oldest daughter of the late Allen and Tressa Warren Peterson. She graduated with Honors from Warren High School in 1944 and joined the Army Corps of Nurses. She attended Edinboro University and received her Registered Nursing degree from Hamot School of Nursing in 1948. She was married to James Austin Lucas from 19491974. She worked at Hamot, Warren General, retired from Warren State Hospital in 1985, and retired the second time from Kinzua Valley Health Care at the age of 75.
She is survived by two sisters, Eveline (Peterson) Warchol of Erie, PA and Marilyn (Peterson) English of Russell, PA; two sons, Mark and Timothy Lucas of Warren, PA; granddaughters, Christina C. (Lucas) Anthony of VA and Amy L. Lucas of Warren, PA, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at the First Lutheran Church, 109 W. Third Street, Warren, on April 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, pastor, officiating.
