Spring is in the air so make plans for our spring fundraiser on April 16. We will feature a chicken and biscuit dinner from 4:30-6:30 p.m. for a donation.
There is still room on the one day trip April 13 to Mt. Jewett. This trip features the Mt. Jewett heritage mural, Kinzua bridge, shopping at Olde Schoolhouse Village Shops, lunch at Sprague's(OYO) and a stop at Eldred's WWII museum. The cost is $35 and pick ups are at Sheffield Senior center and Warren Shurfine. Call 968-5667 for reservations.
Only one day left for VITA tax help and that is April 5. Rent and property tax rebates can be done any day after 1 pm.
National Volunteer Week will be April 21-27 and we will recognize all past and current volunteers who help to make our center what it is today.
The Community Foundation of Warren will have an online fundraising event on May 8 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please remember your center here in Sheffield and go online at www.warrengives.org and support your center with a donation.

Did you ever think about writing your family or personal Legacy? Three consecutive week classes in Autobiographical poetry writing are now being offered at Allegheny Community Center starting Wednesday, April 3 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Instructor Martha Rougus asks that you bring a blank journal or notebook with you to class. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) will be available at the Center by appointment only on Mondays thru Fridays until the tax deadline on April 15, 2013. This free tax service is provided for senior, disabled, low income, earned income and child tax credit taxpayers and includes property tax and rent rebate applications. If you qualify, please call 723-3237 or 723-4180 to make your appointment.

All non-casino trips leave from the CRI parking lot located on Pennsylvania Avenue West, just over the railroad tracks on the left (along the river), unless otherwise instructed to park elsewhere. Salamanca Casino trips depart from the Big Lots parking lot at the Warren Mall, as always. Not sure, just call 723-3237!
ACC is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday. ACC is closed for all activities and meals on legal holidays and on those days when Warren County schools are closed unexpectedly due to bad weather. Hot lunches are available Mondays-Fridays at noon. You can call your reservation to
723-3237. Bistro lunch is available on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no reservation required. Take-outs available.
The Warren-Forest Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Allegheny Community Center and other Warren-Forest centers April 1-5: scalloped chicken Monday; sloppy joe Tuesday; tuna noodle casserole Wednesday, stuffed peppers Thursday, chef surprise Friday. Locations at Marienville, Sheffield, Tidioute and Endeavor will serve menus from Monday, Tuesday and Friday for the three-day sites. Eligible participation is 60 years and older with a suggested donation of $3. Call 723-3763 for information regarding congregate meal sites or center locations. Menu is subject to change based on availability.
