A benefit will be held for a Chandlers Valley woman who was recently diagnosed with stage four cancer.
Tina Gourley was diagnosed with stage four cancer and was travelling to the Cleveland Clinic for treatment without insurance. She was recently accepted into the Medicaid program and has begun treatment at Warren Cancer Center.
Family and friends will meet on Saturday, March 30 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Sugar Grove Fire Hall for a chicken and biscuit dinner. DJ Pat will provide music and there will be drinks available as well as a bake sale and a silent auction. The silent auction will include a number of NASCAR items signed by drivers like Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Danica Patrick.
Terri Robins, who is helping coordinate the benefit, said family and friends in the community "all got together and decided we need to do something."
"There are so many people that have come to us, donations, food, supplies, it's just phenomenal. People have been wonderful," she said.
