Logan Gearhart earned points for the Warren Dolphins YMCA swim team at the YMCA State Swimming Championships over the weekend at the McCoy Natatorium at Penn State University, with a 12-place finish (out of 18) in the 15 & Over 200-yard backstroke.
Gearhart was one of four state qualifiers from Warren, finishing the 200 back in 2:04.21. Gearhart also finished 24th in the 100 back at 57.97 and 18th out of 24 in the 200 free in 1:49.02.

The team of, from left, Rachel Wilson, Margo Loutzenhiser and Madison Loutzenhiser finished first in the seventh-and-eighth-grade girls division of the March Madness 3 on 3 basketball tournament in Lakewood, N.Y. They were 6-0, and were the only group without a fourth/sub teammate.
Ellis Beardsley was 18th in the 15 & Over 200 free in 2:03.12, and Elin Smith 15th in the 15 & Over 200 back in 2:19.53 and 18th in the 100 back in 1:03.06.
Alyssa Brook was 18th in the 10 & Under 100 free in 1:09.25.
Warren Area High School graduate Brandon Schott was recently named the University of Maryland Eastern Shore's male Athlete of the Week for the week of March 25.
Schott hit .455 with five doubles and seven RBI in five games, including a 4-for-5 performance in the Hawks' 17-15 loss to George Washington. Schott collected hits in all five games and concluded the week with four runs and 19 putouts.
Warren Area High School graduate Hank Morrison is a freshman infielder for the Division II Mercyhurst University baseball team. Morrison is currently hitting .278 with five doubles and nine RBI while starting in 17 games for the Lakers (14-10).
Warren Area High School graduate Emily Lobdell is currently hitting .286 in 14 games for Division II Slippery Rock University. In 25.1 innings pitched, she has allowed 14 earned runs for a 4.97 ERA while racking up 24 strikeouts to 10 walks for a 2-2 record.
Youngsville High School graduate Austin Stoddard finished in a 10-way tie for 16th overall at the St. James Plantation Invitational in Southport, North Carolina. Stoddard, a senior on the California University of Pennsylvania men's golf team shot a 10-over 154 for the Vulcans, who finished second in the team standings.
Warren Area High School graduate Katie Spade, a junior on the Division III Penn State Behrend women's track and field team, competed at the Cal U Early Bird Meet on Saturday afternoon. Spade qualified for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference meet in the 800-meter run, taking second overall with a time of 2:18.68. She also placed third as a member of the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:20.64.
Sheffield Area High School graduate Kalil Slaughter competed on the men's side, placing first as a member of the 4x100 relay with a time of 44.22. Slaughter then went on to take second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.19 and first in the 200-meter dash at 22.68. The Lions will be back in action on Saturday at the Washington and Jefferson Invitational.

The Tuesday, March 26, tennis match with Olean has been moved to Lakewood indoor courts and will start at 8 p.m. It was scheduled for Betts Park;
The March 27 tennis match at Johnsonburg has been cancelled; instead, Warren will make up the March 23 postponed tennis match with Harbor Creek at the Lakewood indoor courts. This match will start at 7 p.m.
The softball scrimmage scheduled for Wednesday versus Youngsville has been postponed and rescheduled for 3 p.m. Monday, April 1;
The softball game scheduled for Saturday, March 30, versus Cambridge Springs has been postponed. No makeup date has been set.

Equipment sign-out for Warren County Youth Baseball/Softball Association Little League coaches will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week at the Farm Colony Complex.
