A Warren woman is being held in Jamestown, N.Y., in connection to a Sunday night assault and robbery.
According to Jamestown police, Stacey L. Simmers, 31, Warren, was taken into custody early Tuesday morning on a warrant for charges first-degree robbery and fourth-degree conspiracy.
Simmers was arrested without incident at an East 2nd Street address in Jamestown in connection with the robbery of a male victim at the Charlestown Apartments on Sunday night.
According to police, the victim was meeting some friends at approximately 11 p.m. Sunday at the apartment complex on Charles Street when he was assaulted by a group of individuals. During the assault the victim was struck with a bottle and stabbed in the knee. One of the assailants allegedly stole money from the victim.
"To sum it up, it was a drug deal gone bad," Capt. Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown City Police said on Tuesday. "It was a group effort to sell drugs and then steal money from the victim during the drug deal."
Following the incident Sunday, Jamestown police arrested Malek A. Morley and Kyle R. Senear, both 18 and of Jamestown, on charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree assault and fourth-degree conspiracy.
Police also reported arresting William D. Sloppy, 38, of Jamestown on Tuesday in connection with the incident. Police said Sloppy is charged with fourth-degree conspiracy.
