Eight-year-old Katie Beyer had a big day at the YMCA Swimming District B meet held this past Saturday at Linton Middle School in Penn Hills.
Despite being just eight years old, Beyer qualified in the 9-10-year-old girls 50 free for this weekend's district meet in Youngstown, Ohio. As the only eight-year-old competing, Beyer finished second in the 9-10 girls 100 IM, fourth in the 9-10 girls 50 fly, and first in the 9-10 girls 50 free.
Teammate Lindsay Finch finished fourth in the 11-12 girls 200 free and sixth in the 11-12 girls 200 IM, Meg Beyer was 11th in the 13-18 girls 200 IM, and Abbie Buerkle finished 11th in the 11-12 girls 50 fly.
