Scouts learn fire building

March 5, 2013
The Times Observer

Webelos Cub Scouts from Sugar Grove learned primitive fire making techniques on Sunday, March 3. The scouts successfully created a fire without matches using only a primitive spark. They worked as a team and were able to overcome major obstacles such as wind, snow and water logged wood. They also enjoyed a meal by cooking over the fire. Additionally the cub scouts had a great hike in the ANF and learned about fire safety.
