Mary E. Wickwire, 87, of Abraham Hollow Rd., passed away March 2, 2013 at the Corry Manor.
She was born January 8, 1926 in Torpedo, Pa., a daughter of the late Clyde and Grace (Cotterman) Pike. Mary attended the Holden Hill and Columbus Schools and had worked at Aero Supply, Woolworth, and Foamex in Corry, retiring from there. She enjoyed going to garage sales, playing poker, camping, fishing, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two children, Connie (Larry) Upton of Spring Creek, and Bruce Wickwire of Youngsville, a sister Wilma Zinger of Garland, two grandchildren, Patches Hendrickson and her fiance Michael Smith of Spring Creek and Dale (Susan) Upton of Spartansburg, four great grandchildren, Jeremy and Samuel Hendrickson, and Rachael and Riley Hajec.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Frank E. Wickwire, whom she married September 27, 1947 in Corry and who died March 1, 1990, 3 sisters, Katherine Hammond, Ellen Thomas, and Blanche Parker, and 5 brothers, Clyde, Allen, Ralph, Harry, and Donald Pike.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to a memorial service that will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (March 6) at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St. in Youngsville, with the Rev. Michael Sperry, pastor of the West Spring Creek Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery.
