Conewango Twp.

Theft by unlawful taking. At midnight on Feb. 23, Warren County Adult Probation notified Conewango Township Police that Jeremiah Garris of Warren had taken a shopping cart from Wal-Mart. Police said Garris then took the shopping cart to his residence and threw the cart over the embankment of the Conewango Creek. Police said Garris is being charged with one count each of misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and scattering rubbish in the waters of the Commonwealth. Charges have been filed with District Justice Laura Bauer's office.

Pittsfield Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of Rt. 6 and Nelson Hill Rd. on Feb. 27 at 7:35 a.m. According to police, Douglas Turner, 23, Pittsfield, was westbound on Rt. 6 when his vehicle was driven off the south edge of the roadway, crossed over Nelson Hill Rd., traveled down an embankment and came to rest in a private yard. Police said Turner is uncertain as to the cause of the accident. An investigation continues.
