Bowl For A Cure
On January 12-13, the Warren United States Bowling Congress Women’s Bowling Association held its annual Bowl For A Cure event at Sheffield’s Bowlaway Lanes. A total of 108 bowlers participated in the event. On February 15, Warren USBC Women’s Bowling Association president Cheryl Wilson, left, presented a check in the amount of $1,766.47 to Mark Neidig, Director of the Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation in Erie.

Youngsville High School graduate Cory Craig suffered a loss in his first collegiate start on Wednesday as a freshman for Division II California University of Pa.
Craig allowed five runs on four hits and two walks in 2 2/3 innings (70 pitches) in an 8-5 loss to Penn State Greater Allegheny. This, after Craig threw a scoreless inning in his debut.

Warren Area High School graduate Tyler Leichtenberger is 1-1 after throwing six innings, allowing one run on three hits with five strikeouts and three hit batters in Rochester Institute of Technology's 22-1 win on Wednesday over SUNY Canton in Auburndale, Fla.

Warren Area High School graduate Matt Jaskolka is listed as a freshman pitcher on the baseball roster of Division II Bloomsburg University.

Warren Area High School graduate Emily Lobdell earned a win on Feb. 15 pitching for Division II Slippery Rock University, striking out eight over six scoreless innings in a 9-0 win over Bluefield State. She was 1-for-2 at the plate as the centerfielder in a 4-3 loss to Ohio Valley. Three straight games have been canceled due to weather.
