Local students will experience famine

February 27, 2013
The Times Observer

Would you go without food willingly for 30 hours? On March 1 and 2, 19 students in grades six through 12 from North Warren Presbyterian Church and other local churches will be doing the 30 Hour Famine at North Warren to benefit World Vision. They will go without food and get a taste of what the world's poorest children and families face every day. These students are raising funds with the knowledge that every $30 they raise can help feed and care for a child for a month. While they do the Famine, they will participate in activities which increase their knowledge about poverty, hunger, education and safety issues around the world in addition to doing service projects for local non-profits.
