Viola Rose Sullivan Walter of 582 College Street, Youngsville, passed away February 18, 2013 at Warren General Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Youngsville February 27, 1920, a daughter of Ralph and Rose Finlan Sullivan.
She was a member of Saron Lutheran Church, past member of the Altar Guild, Birthday Club, and was a past Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star and had been active in many other organizations. She retired from the Warren County Courthouse in 1986. Viola enjoyed knitting, crocheting, but most of all spending time at family gatherings.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence in 1960, her brothers Willis, Maynard, Ralph, and Gerald, her sisters Harrietta, Myrtle and Martha, and several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Robert) Foor of Rock Hill, S.C., Diane (Craig) Allen of Pittsfield, Pa., four grandchildren, Ben (Melanie) Firth, Julie Torbett, Amanda (Mark) Hilbert and Jason (Armida) Allen, twelve greatgrandchildren, Aurora, Barnabas, Sarah, Silas, Josiah, Anna, Aspen, Haven, Nathanael, Colby, Tristan, and Jack, three sisters, Phyllis Henry, Edna Caldwell, Hazel Taydus, and one brother Clarence Sullivan, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to a funeral service that will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Saron Lutheran Church, 148 West Main St. in Youngsville with the Rev. Mark Fischer, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
