Sandra I. Nelson, 64, formally of Warren, died at Corry Manor on February 14, 2013 following a shortterm illness.

Sandi was born on August 11th, 1948 at Warren General Hospital, a daughter of Helen Swanson Peters and Raymond Peters. She graduated from Youngsville High School in 1966. She graduated from Edinboro University in 1996 with a BSW. She was a nurse's aide at the Rouse Warren County Home for many years, a case manager for Ross Institute, a social worker for Warren Manor, and the director of the Alzheimer's Unit at Kinzua Valley Healthcare. She also wrote for the Edinboro Spectator and was an assistant leader for the girl scouts.

She is survived by her sons, David (Helen) Slocum, Warren, Thomas (Emilee) Burke, Shippensburg, and daughters, Darla Roberts, Warren, and Ashley Rutter, Edinboro, brothers, Fred (Shirlee) Peters, Youngsville, Larry (Kathryn) Peters, Cary, NC, and grandchildren Chalaine Snyder, Pittsburgh, Alexis Roberts, Warren, Trenton Roberts, Warren, Oliver Stewart, Edinboro, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Patricia VanArsdale, and her nephew, Greg Peters.

Sandi's wishes were to have her body donated to the Human Gifts Registry. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Regional Home Health Care and Hospice of Corry, 13675 Rt. 6, Corry, Pa. ,16407.
