PIAA cheerleading
The finals of the inaugural PIAA competitive spirit championships will air at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, on The Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN), including a fourth-place finish by McDowell in the Large School competition. Oil City was eliminated in the first round of the large squad competition.
In the medium squad division, Mercyhurst Prep finished 18th and Harbor Creek was 21st, while in the small squad division, Fairview finished 22nd followed by Warren and Wilmington at 33rd and 34th, respectively.
