You couldn't blame Eisenhower coach Mike Logue for having mixed emotions after Saturday's game.
On the bright side, his Knights improved to 9-12 with a 50-41 non-region victory over District 9's AC Valley. On the other hand, his daughter is the starting point guard for the Falcons.
Perhaps everything worked out perfectly. In the two meetings between father and daughter this season, the score was all tied up at 1-1.

Eisenhower took control straight from the tip-off, starting the game with a 10-4 run. The Falcons answered with a small run of their own to make it a three-point game heading into the second quarter.
The two teams traded buckets through the opening moments of the second stanza before Kristen Williams hit a big three-pointer to put the Lady Knights up four. Eisenhower would maintain the lead the rest of the way.
Ike dominated the third quarter, outscoring AC Valley, 12-4, behind a pair of three-pointers from Williams.

Down double figures, the Falcons looked like they were back in the game with a quick 6-0 run to start the fourth. However, the Knights once again had an answer, going on a 7-0 run and taking back control of the game.
Williams led the way for Eisenhower with four three-pointers and 14 points. Danielle Bradish added nine points while Holly Chapman finished with eight points.
Alyssa Peterson and Chapman hauled down seven rebounds each while Brooke Stanton finished with six. Bradish, Halie VanOrd and Dakota Williams each dished out four assists. Bradish also contributed three steals.
Coach Logue called the win "bittersweet."
"We needed a win," said Logue. "We have an eye on the playoffs and this was a game we thought we needed to have. Still, you hate to see your daughter lose."
Logue added that his team made improvements from their first game against AC Valley.
"Peterson, Stanton and Chapman did a nice job on their bigs, holding them to a combined 15 points," he said. "The first time they scored 29 on us. So we did a much better job."
Ike's junior varsity team fell in its game, 44-31. Haylie Birt finished with 15 points for the Knights.
Eisenhower will host Maplewood on Thursday.
