Donovan retires

February 11, 2013
The Times Observer

Long time Warren General Hospital volunteer Fanny Donovan turned in her green volunteer smock and stepped down after 23 years and more than 5,000 hours in service at Warren General Hospital. At a retirement tea on Thursday, Fanny, on the right, received many heartfelt thank yous and goodby hugs from fellow volunteers, hospital staff, and WGH Auxiliary board member Gayle Mohney. The hospital depends on volunteers to direct visitors, deliver newspapers, flowers and mail, operate a gift shop and snack bar within the hospital, transport patients to various auxiliary services like imaging and rehab, and support families with a loved one in the ER. Some volunteers work everyday and some only two to four hours a week. If you are interested in helping others, WGH can really use you. Contact volunteer director, Debra Gray, at 723-4973 ext 1835.
