Spirit! Spirit! Spirit!
The TCCS Spirit Club, headed by Ryan Guerra and Sara Aeillo, put on a Pep Assembly on Jan. 31 for the home basketball game. We had a pie-eating contest, relay race, hula hoop contest and a class spirit contest. The students and teachers had a great time. Everyone dressed up all week according to the theme of the day. We had dress as your favorite animal, formal dress-up day, famous person, school spirit and fantasy or mystical character day.
The date for the Spring Concert has been changed to Tuesday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m.
TCCS is located in Warren County so we follow delays and cancellations for the WCSD. If TCCS is cancelled or delayed, notice will be posted on the top of the school website-tidioutecharter.com. If TCCS is scheduled for classes and WCSD is not and there is a need to cancel or delay school, notices for TCCS will be posted on the Warren radio station and the Erie news station. If you live outside of Warren County follow cancellation or delay policies for your school district of residence. If your district cancels or delays and Warren County does not, you still need to follow your own district's recommendations.
Board of Trustees
TCCS Board of Trustees meets on the second Wednesday of every month. The next meeting will be on Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the school library.
TCCS will have Friday, Feb. 15 and Monday, Feb. 18 off unless we use snow days before those days occur.
TCCS has joined the Sunny D Book Spree. We are collecting Sunny D Labels (20 oz or larger) which will be turned in for free books. The program donates 20 free books for 20 Sunny D UPC labels. The program will also award hundreds of books to the ten schools that collect the most labels.
Box Tops, Soup Labels
Don't forget to collect box tops and Campbell soup labels for the school. We earn money for the school.
Student Council members are preparing for the Homecoming dance on Feb. 16. The cost is $8 per person and $14 per couple. The dance will run from 7 to 10 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
Teen Center Donations
Thanks to everyone for all of the donations to help make our Teen Center drive a success, including the donations given by the community in our collection cans and boxes around town.
A special thank you to these people for their large donations: Norm Gillinane, Air Hockey table and Foos Ball table; Tom and Emilie Nicholson, Xbox and Wii video games, games, t-shirts, karaoke machine, 2 TVs, movies, craft supplies; students and faculty of TCCS who participated in the kickball/ dodge ball tournament, we raised $85; Pat R. donated a Wii fit board and Wii game, and a large monetary donation.
On Jan. 28, we had the Smile Program Mobile Dentist of PA come to Tidioute Community Charter School. This program was very easily accessed by the children. Permission forms were sent home with each student and those families interested in the program completed the form and returned it to school.
Twenty children were seen and services that were provided on those children included dental exams, x-rays, cleanings and fluoride treatments. In addition, they placed 46 sealants on the children's teeth that required this service.
This program is scheduled to return in October this year and April 2014 for those families at TCCS who are interested.
