ALLENE CARLSON

Allene L. Carlson, 62, of Route 6, Corry, Pa., died at UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa., on Tuesday, January 29, 2013.

She was born on November 30, 1950 in Corry, Pa., a daughter of the late Floyd W. "Toby" and Winifred Johnson Utegg.

Allene was raised and educated in the Columbus area, graduating from Corry Area High School in 1968. She has been employed at the Blair Corporation in Irvine, Pa., for the last 28 years. She loved taking care of her family and friends. For those who knew Allene, you may have enjoyed many of her homemade baked goods that were always on the kitchen counter.

Allene was a member of the Columbus Community Evangelical Church. She enjoyed needlepoint and reading.

In addition to her parents, Allene was preceded in death by a brother Robert A. "Bobby" Utegg.

Allene is survived by her husband, Arthur A. Carlson, Jr., whom she married on October 1, 1976, in Columbus, Pa.; two daughters Amy S. Utegg of Erie, Pa., and Kimberly L. Carlson of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three stepsons, Scott Carlson and his wife Kelly, Mark Carlson, and Thomas Carlson, all of Corry; three sisters, Louise Crabtree of Moberly, Mo., Jean Sheehan of Sherman, NY., and Mary "Pudge" Chimenti and her fiance Earl Slayton of Corry, Pa.; and two brothers, Leslie "Les" Utegg and his wife Sandy of Columbus, Pa., and Lloyd D. Utegg of Polk, Pa. She is also survived by several grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Columbus Community Evangelical Church, 66 W. Main St., Columbus, Pa., on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service there at 11 a.m. Pastor Les Utegg will officiate.

Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Pa.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, PA.
