Larry and Crystal Nelson of Warren have announced the engagement of their daughter, Amber Nelson, to Evan Groopman, son of John and Hilary Groopman of Owings Mills, Md.
Amber is a 2002 graduate of Warren Area High School and attended Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pa., graduating with a double major in math and physics. She is pursuing her Ph.D. in ultrasound physics at Washington University at St. Louis, Mo.
Evan is a graduate of Owings Mills High School. He attended Washington University at St. Louis, Mo., and received a bachelor of arts degree in physics. He is pursuing a Ph.D. in astrophysics.
