We have a couple of underdogs up for Times Observer Athletes of the Week, sponsored by McDonald's. Above, Steven Haner was a beast on Saturday at the North East Tournament. Sure, he had been knocked to the consolation round at 113 pounds on Friday night, but he went 5-0 on Saturday, including four decisions by two points or less, and a 6-4 decision over North East's Logan Gray in the third-place match, to finish as Eisenhower's top placewinner. At right, the Lady Lions went 2-0 last week, and Allyssa Kerr took hold. In a 26-22 Warren County Christian win over Erie First Christian, Kerr grabbed 26 rebounds. In a 42-30 win over French Creek Valley Christian, she had 17 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks. Haner and Kerr battled, and are the Times Observer Athletes of the Week.
