Newly-elected State Sen. Scott Hutchinson is already looking to make some improvements to the 21st Senatorial District of Pennsylvania, which includes parts of Warren County.
Hutchinson's efforts include operating three district offices across the six-county area he represents, including one in Warren.
"There were several factors that I considered when deciding where to locate my district offices," he said. "First and foremost is accessibility. Most business can be conducted over the internet or through a phone call, but there are still times when people want or need to meet face-to-face with me or with a member of my staff."
Hutchinson added that he "factored in cost. State government must be frugal and responsible with taxpayers' money during these difficult fiscal times. Balancing accessibility and costs means the best option is to operate an office in Warren to serve the northern tier of the district and an office in Butler, which is the main population center of the southern part of the district. I decided to keep the office in Oil City that I used as a state representative as my main office since it is centrally located in the district."
The Oil City main office is located at 302 Seneca St. and is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. The main office telephone number is (814) 677-6345.
The Warren office is located at 22045 Route 6, the Warren County Visitors Center, and is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. The office telephone number is 728-2100.
The Butler office is located at 111 East Diamond St. and is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. The telephone number is 724-282-1234.
Hutchinson's Harrisburg office is in Room 460 on the fourth floor of the Senate side of Capitol complex. He can be reached by calling 717-787-9684 or by mail at Senate Box 203021, Harrisburg, Pa. 17120.
