Warren senior Jaimie Eaton and Eisenhower senior Jake Johnson had signature moments last week. Eaton was named Cranberry Tournament MVP, helping the Lady Dragons hoist a championship trophy with wins over Westinghouse (Pittsburgh) and Cranberry (to avenge a loss at last year's tournament). Eaton had 21 points in the Westinghouse win to go over 1,000 career points - the seventh female ever to do so from Warren Area High School. She added seven rebounds and six assists. In the final vs. Cranberry, Eaton poured in 26 points with six assists and seven steals. Johnson also ended his week with a smile on his face. He's 14-0 on the year, ranked No. 1 at 195 pounds in District 10 Class AA and the Northwest Region Class AA. His biggest win last week was a 7-2 decision at the Warren Duals over previously-unbeaten Chris McNeal of Warren, helping the Knights to a 36-29 win over the Dragons. For their efforts, Eaton and Johnson are the Times Observer Athletes of the Week, sponsored by McDonald's.
