CORRY - If it's any consolation, Eisenhower's boys basketball team nearly pulled out the win on Saturday against South Side (Pittsburgh) at the Corry Tournament.
"We made a couple mistakes at the end; we were leading right up until the last minute," said Eisenhower coach Dave Allenson, whose Knights are 1-7 overall after seven straight losses, but have lost three of their last four by four points or less.
"We've played some tough teams," said Allenson, whose Knights host Conneaut Thursday in a region game.
Allenson said the Knights played well against a very athletic team from South Side on Saturday, including a good defensive effort from Colin Shine.
Aaron Lundmark scored 15 of the Knights' 31 points.
Carter Farrell scored 20 points in Eisenhower's junior varsity (2-5) win over South Side.
