Ailene J. Thompson, 82, of Youngsville, PA and formerly of Erie, (Millcreek Twp.) PA, passed away Monday, December 24th, peacefully, at her residence.
Ailene was born in Jamestown, NY on March 8, 1930, a daughter of the late Myrtle (Mathis) and William Lord. She was preceded in death in 2004 by her husband Ronald Thompson, whom she married July 5, 1950. She was also preceded in death by her brother Dan Lord, of Sunnyvale, CA.
Ailene was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her three boys and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed playing cards and dining with her life long friends. She was formerly a volunteer for Hospice of Metro Erie, a past president of the Parent Teachers Association in Youngsville, had served as a founding member on the Brokenstraw Valley Swimming Pool Committee, was a past Sunday School Teacher at Youngsville Saron Lutheran Church, and had attended the First Presbyterian Church in Warren.

Surviving are 3 sons: David (Beverly) Thompson, of Yachats, OR; Bradley (Kathy) Thompson, of Ft. Wayne, IN; Larry Thompson, of Youngsville, PA; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by 4 granddaughters, Jennifer, Heather, Rachel, and Michele; and 7 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday from 122 pm at McKinney Funeral Homes in Youngsville, where a funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, December 28, 2012 with Rev. Kathy Thompson officiating.
Interment will follow at Youngsville Cemetery.
