Lion's Club

Tidioute Lions Club wishes to thank the residents and businesses for supporting the recycling center in Tidioute.

Through everyone's efforts the Lions are able to put back into the community a large portion of what is earned from the recycle items.

A few of the things they support include: Tidioute Community Charter School, Bucktails Trap League, Chief Cornplanter Friends of Scouting, Farnsworth Trout Club, Community Crop Walk, Holiday Lighting Committee, Tidioute Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Vouchers Program, Second Harvest Backpack Program for Kids, Eyeglass Assistance, Northwestern PA Eye Bank, Erie Blind Bowlers, Scholarship for Seniors, VFW Warm Clothes for Kids, VFW Support the Troops Program and Lions Club International Disaster Relief Program.

Without your efforts to recycle none of this would be possible.

The Lions Club is asking for volunteers to help assist with recycling on Mondays at 1 p. m. each week.

Of late due to age and health issues, there are only five or six Lions able to do this work.

Without volunteers this is becoming more than they can handle.

If you have some time and can find it in your heart to lend a hand, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

With this said, they want to wish all of you a happy, healthy 2013.

Fire Department

Election results for the Tidioute fire department for 2013 are as follows: Chief-Mark Veasey, First Assistant Chief-Shawn Silvis, Second Assistant Chief- Terry Stuart.

Newly elected board members include Nathan Brown, John Brown, Henry Brown, and Corey Nicholson.

The official tally results are posted in the radio room at the Firehall.

Concert

Twenty-nine students from the Tidioute Community Charter School Concert Choir and Guitar Group gathered at the Tidioute Senior Center and sang numerous Christmas carols for those who attended the Christmas dinner at the center.

Students sang Silent Night in both German and English.

Members of the guitar group played Away In the Manger.

Lullaby's were written to the beat of a Mothers Heart, thus the beat would help put the child to sleep.

Mr. Moore and Mr. Bush are the music teachers at Tidioute Community Charter School.

Approximately 85 people attended the Candlelight Services held at the Swede Church on Sunday evening.

The children sang several songs and the church choir sang special songs.

At the conclusion of the services everyone received oranges, candy canes and a bag of mixed candies as per the Swedish tradition.
