In the spirit of Christmas, gifts of hearty meals arrived at the doors of hundreds of local families in Warren and Forest Counties.
Dozens of volunteers drove all over the two counties Christmas morning taking the fixings for meals to 280 shut-ins as part of the Holiday Hot Meals program sponsored by Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church in Warren.
Meals of ham, potatoes, veggies, rolls, and cookies, were "delivered with a healthy helping of Christmas joy," according to Priest-in-Charge Matthew Scott.

Of course, delivering meals is only the final step of several in the process.
"The ministry features members of Trinity along with partners from many other area churches preparing, packaging, and delivering meals on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and the day before Easter each year," Scott said. "The ministry began 13 years ago with two members of Trinity bringing prepackaged turkey dinners out to a few shut-ins in the local community on Thanksgiving morning. It grew rapidly as more people offered ideas, eventually leading to Trinity cooking turkeys all week before Thanksgiving as part of preparing
