Jr. high hoops

Beaty earned a pair of recent junior high boys basketball victories, defeating Elk County Catholic on December 13 and West Lake on Monday.

In the 38-14 win over Elk County, Elliot Gross led the winners with 10 points, Jimmy Lobdell scored eight points, Rylan Fitzgerald scored seven points, Nathan Betts scored six points, Troy Shattuck, Ryan Munksgard and Adam Irwin scored two points each and Kohl Nosel finished with one point.

Tournament runners-up
The Warren varsity wrestling team placed second in the Falconer Duals event held this past Saturday at Falconer Area High School in Falconer, N.Y. The Dragons finished the weekend 4-1, losing only the championship match of the tournament, 38-29, to Lake Shore. Team members include, front row from left, Mike Card, Seth Johnson, Chris McNeal, Jonah Hordusky, D.J. Fehlman, Alex Streich and Jason Peterson. Second row, Kevin Barsness, Tyler Heubach, Nate Park, Sonny Leeper, Cody Gunn, Glyn Mahood, Stephen Crone, head coach Glenn Baldensperger, Dan Henry, Garrett Smead and coach Steve Siliano. Third row, Bailey Pratt, Derek Reagle, Bailey Winslow, Collin DeLattre, Gabe Irvine and coach Tony Smead. Back row, Mac Himes, Ed Rickerson and Hunter Egger.

In a 36-29 win over West Lake, Gross led the Dragons with 10 points, Fitzgerald added nine, Nosel seven, Chris White and Colby Johnson three points each and Mitchell Bryant and Lobdell two points each.

Beaty (4-0) returns to action January 3, hosting Corry.

Postponed

The Strong Vincent at Warren swim meet originally scheduled for Thursday was postponed due to a scheduling conflict.

Bowling news

The Warren Bowling for Veterans Tournament was held November 11 with $433 collected for local vets. Winners from the tournament are listed below:
